We all know im a HUUUUUGE fan of Dr. West aka Kan the Louis Vuitton Don…Kanye West.. so when I found out he was debuting his womens wear line at paris fashion, I was over the top excited. This past Saturday, Kanye held his Spring 2012 Fashion show in Paris during Paris Fashion week at Lycee Henri IV. Kanye debuted his new women’s clothing line, “DW.” ”DW” is a tribute to his late mother, Donda West. Kanye maned the show backstage while his audience, consisting of celebrity designers such as Riccardo Tisci and Jeremy Scott, and celebrities such as The Olsen Twins and Lindsay Lohan, watched along. Check out photos of some of the designs and a runway video below.
Okay I just want to say that I love Marc Jacobs with passion, and the fact he decided to play “dress up” with Miuccia effortless classy Prada collection, makes me adore him even more. He plays out as a Miuccia maniac. Marc dresses up in womens clothing, and shows the designer dressed in a variety of head to toe looks for Prada’s Fall 2011 Collection.
Marc, clearly a voracious Prada fan, was shot by Manuela Pavesi, Micciua’s best friend. Quoted in the spread is Miuccia herself: “Of course I like Marc dressing in Prada very much. I think he is very brave and, most important of all, he looks completely acceptable and elegant. He has a real spirit and I like his work.” He also said “I got through this dreary winter by coming to work each day dressed in Cat-in-the-hat fur boas, striped pencil skirts, hospital scrubs, correctional-facility tops and brogue/espadrille/creeper-style shoes-all Prada. Some men’s, and some from the women’s collection.” according to Katie Grand, he bought two of every skirt from the collection, one from NY and Paris…..thats our Marc.
For his first season as Hermes’s creative director, designer Christope Lemaire made his mark with a more “ready to wear” approach for this collection. It was more relaxed compaired to his predecessor Jean Paul Gaultier. The shapes were very easy, slouchy and inspired by the ‘turn of the year’ fashion.
Hakaan stuck to the classic black and white palette, but with a in your face twist of head turning red as well for this season. The Pieces were very natural and feminine, but with over sized asymmetrical jackets to bring in the showstopper. But it was equally as easy to appreciate a subtle mix between futurism and 20th century classicism amongst Hakaan’s autumn 2011 offering as well. Ye was spotted over the weekend at the Christian Dior show wearing a Leopard print bomber jacket from Givenchy’s s/s 2011 collection paired with a pair of distressed jeans and loafers. Word from the bird he recently applied for the Master’s Degree program in Fashion and Central Saint Martins college of London. He’s been building his porfolio with interships at Fendi, and Louis Vuitton, but its up to the school board to decide whether he would be approved for the program, kinda neat of him right? I wonder is Cassius had anything to do with this?
Has Gareth become a little sensitive before our eyes? or is he tricking us again with his avant garde flourishes? His fmeall collection was very simple, yet edgy and always futuristic but the flames were missing. During the finale metallics showed up, but overall it was very minimal. Mr. Pugh even showed a romantic side of him with his blue segment.
I think with this new direction Pugh will be taking us in, he may even find new fans waiting his way…..lets not forget Beyonce aka my love in gareth pugh during the 2008 EMA’s who would have known? take a look at Gareth Pugh’s latest collection below.-Quinton Molanzi

At Lanvin, the catwalk was a carpet of deep burgundy swirls and the models walked like the clappers. Here, it was a tale of two trousers: super-lean and short, occasionally with zippers at the back, versus styles cut in billowing ripples of fabric, running from thigh to ankle. In this show, the wide trousers worked best teamed with a sharply tailored jacket, while at Dior, success came with a turnup, which somehow anchored the fluidity of the fabric.
